James (Jim) Sines is a partner with Ackley, Kopecky & Kingery, LLP. Jim primarily represents individuals in litigation matters.
Jim’s personal injury practice includes automobile, bicycle, motorcycle and pedestrian accidents, product liability, sexual abuse, harassment, nursing home abuse, injury, and death cases.
He handles civil litigation matters including real estate ranging from bad construction to fraudulent failure to disclose issues prior to sale, and insurance claims. He represents employees in wrongful termination cases involving retaliatory discharge, sexual harassment, and discrimination.
Jim has a diverse family law practice including dissolution of marriage, custody, child support, paternity, guardianships, conservatorships, and stepparent adoption.
Jim works to resolve disputes for his clients through consultation, mediation and negotiated settlements, bench, and jury trials.
Jim is a member of the Linn County, Iowa State, and American Bar Associations and the Iowa Association of Justice.
